Absent Minded

I guess I’m not the only on

Who chooses not to see

The entire world, this entire life

All laid out in front of me

Do you feel the difference now

Without him at your side

Get used to it, sweetie

Some day we all have to die

Alone, you were foolish

Seeking false sighted truth

Pretending that your love

Was the highlight of your youth

When will you finally realize

All good, one day, will end

That at some point in time

The heart can no longer mend

But I’ll promise you something

I will always be here

Saying everything that you

Will always refuse to hear
